What Does the TSA Do for You?

  • The TSA is working to address certain omissions and flaws in the Texas State Statutes and Administrative Rules which CRNA’s are attempting to exploit to support their claims that they practice “independently” of physician supervision.
  • The TSA is making a significant effort to educate local hospital administrators and medical staffs to ensure that local practices are consistent with the appropriate standards.
  • The TSA is working to obtain fair and reasonable compensation for the physician who treats patients in the workers’ compensation system.
  • The TSA is working to see that the Governor and the Insurance Commissioner are aware when anesthesiologists are not paid promptly so that appropriate interventions and/or restitution can occur.
  • The TSA has a key contact program with state and national representatives, which allows your voice to be heard on important issues relating to anesthesia and medicine.
  • The TSA also has a political action committee, the TSAPAC that contributes to Texas State candidates and helps the TSA maintain open lines of communications with these representatives. Contributions to the TSAPAC are separate from your TSA dues.
