The ASA Board of Directors met at the Marriott Marquis San Francisco in San Francisco, CA at 09:30 AM on October 18, 2023, following the ASA House of Delegates and after a brief delay due to an earthquake warning. It was convened by ASA President Dr. Ronald L. Harter of Ohio. The conduct of the meeting was turned over and conducted by Dr. Jeffrey S. Jacobs, newly elected ASA Speaker from Florida.

Dr. Jay R. Mesrobian, ASA Treasurer of Wisconsin was recognized for updates to the 2024 Proposed Budget and based on HOD actions that included $55 dues increase for the next year and with projected expenses and revenues each of just over $54 million. With updates of revenues from the Annual Meeting, the projected surplus is projected at just over $14K! The BOD subsequently approved the Budget as proposed.

The BOD also approved the selection of James P. Rathmell, M.D., MBA as Editor-in-Chief of our signature journal, Anesthesiology.

Dr. Harter adjourned the ASA Interim Board Meeting at 09:50 AM.
