Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to: 1) discuss acute surgical care as a high value intervention in meeting the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s (IHIs) triple aim; 2) explain Enhanced Perioperative Recovery programs as a patient centric value based intervention; 3) identify key elements of setting up a robust enhanced surgical recovery program; and 4) review the core outcome measures and quality control metrics for a sustainable program.

Target Audience Surgeons, anesthesiologists, intensivists, hospitalists, internists, and all other physicians involved in the care of perioperative and periprocedural patients, and health care administrators.
