ARTICLE 7 - MEETINGS

7.0 ANNUAL MEETING

  7.01 TIME AND PLACE
    7.011 This Society shall hold an Annual Meeting at such time and place as has been fixed by the Board of Directors.
    7.012 A change of time may be approved by the Board of Directors up to one year prior to the meeting and due notice shall be forwarded to the membership as early as possible.
  7.02 PROCEEDINGS
    7.021 Overall planning of the Annual Meeting will be under the supervision of the Committee on Meetings. The scientific programs at annual meetings may consist of general meetings and other sessions as deemed advisable by the Committee on Education.  A registration fee may be charged as established by the Board of Directors.
    7.022 The program of the each Annual Meeting shall include a at least one business meeting(s) of the House of Delegates, for election of officers, receipt of reports from officers, directors, committees, delegates, and other officials and transaction of other business affairs of this Society.
  7.03 SPECIAL MEETINGS
    Special Meetings of this Society may be called by the President with the approval of the Board of Directors.

SPECIAL INTERIM MEETING(S)
   

Special Meetings of this Society may be called by the President. The Chair of the Committee on Meetings shall from time to time make recommendations to the President for Special Meetings. The Chair of the Committee on Meetings shall recommend ex-officio members to the President for assistance with Special Meetings.

The President shall present to the Board of Directors for approval, a summary of the Special Meeting to include, but not limited to program content, location, budget and recommendations for attendance fees.
  7.11 TIME AND PLACE
   

This society shall hold an Interim Meeting at such time and place as has been fixed by the Board of Directors.  This meeting shall be scientific in nature and shall be the responsibility of the Committee on Education.

ARTICLE 9 - COMMITTEES

  9.200 Committee on Annual and Interim Meetings
    9.2001 Composition:  At least ten active members of the Society, at least three of whom were members of the committee during the previous year. The Chair of the committee shall have served on the committee during the prior year. Committee would include at least two members from the Governmental Affairs Committee, two from the Education Committee, two from the Economics Committee, and four additional members. The Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer as well as the Chair of the TSAPAC Board will be Ex-Officio members of this committee.  Six voting members of the Society, two of whom were members of the committee previously.  The Chair of the Education Committee will serve as the Annual Meeting Arrangements Chair and the Co-Chair of the Education Committee will be designated Interim Meeting Arrangements Chair. A sub­committee consisting of two members shall be designated by the President as a Site Selection Subcommittee.  A subcommittee consisting of two members shall be designated by the President as an Exhibitor Liaison Subcommittee. If a member of the Committee does not live in the host city, then a designated local TSA member chosen by the Chair may serve as a resource.
    9.2002 Duties of the Chair of the Committee on Meetings: The Chair shall assist the President-Elect with the appointments of members to the following subcommittees: the Site Selection Subcommittee and the Exhibitor Liaison Subcommittee. This committee shall convene regularly at the annual meeting. The Chair may call meetings of the Committee as needed. The Chair will report to the Board at the September and winter Board meetings. Included in these reports will be an assessment of the meeting needs of the organization, potential sites, and budgets. At the winter Board meeting, the Chair shall present the budget for the Annual Meeting and other planned special meeting(s), including attendee pricing, estimated expenses and the anticipated net revenue for the Annual Meeting. The Board will approve attendee pricing for the Annual and Special meetings at the winter meeting.
    9.20023 Duties of the Site Selection Subcommittee Sub-Committee:  To investigate and arrange for a host city for the Annual meetings and to submit recommendations to the Board of Directors for approval.  The selection process should be conducted so that the Board of Directors receives recommendations for sites for meetings that are to be held at least three years following the meeting at which the recommendations are made.
    9.20034 Duties of the Exhibitor Liaison Subcommittee Sub-Committee:  To assist the TSA staff in to obtaining grants and sponsorships, as well as recruiting companies to exhibit at the TSA Annual and special mMeeting(s).
    9.20045 Duties of the TSA Staff: The Executive Director and the Society staff shall may assist in all aspects of the Society’s meetings at the direction of the Chair of the Committee on Meetings. the Committee and Subcommittees in all matters related to the planning and management of the Annual and Interim Meetings. To arrange for a hotel and/or other facility for the Annual and Interim meetings; for meeting rooms for the Annual Meetings of the House of Delegates and Reference Committees; for a meeting room for the Board of Directors; and rooms for the scientific programs, exhibitors and social programs. To arrange all social functions as deemed appropriate.   This function shall be under the oversight of the Chair of the Committee and final approval will be given by the TSA Executive Committee.
  9.207 Committee on Education
    9.2071 Composition:  At least ten five members, four two of whom were members of the committee during the previous year.
    9.2072

Duties:  To plan and implement methods of furthering the post­graduate education of practicing anesthesiologists, including the arrangements for all scientific educational programs sponsored by this Society.

To assist in obtaining approval and accreditation of scientific programs by the Accreditation Council of Continuing Medical Education. programs for credit toward the American Medical Association’s Physician's Recognition Award - Category 1;

To act as an advisory group to the Committee on Annual and Interim Meetings and the Board regarding educational efforts of the Society..
