September 6-7, 2012

  1. Approved recommendation that the TSA remind members that the Peer Review Committee is available to review testimony.
  2. Approved recommendation that the TSA budget $7,000 for future Practice Management Conferences.
  3. Approved recommendation that the Practice Management Committee investigate the possibility of working with the Anesthesia Administrators of Texas (AAT) to explore alternative dates to hold the Practice Management Conference in order to enhance resident participation.
  4. Approved as amended Line 13 of the Professional Development Sub-Committee on Rural Anesthesia Report to read: “said hospital, we may be tortiously interfering with an existing contract. We are reviewing the…”

  1. Approved recommendation that the Ad-Hoc Committee to Bring the ASA Annual Meeting to San Antonio, be granted latitude to pursue Dallas as an alternative ASA Annual Meeting site if San Antonio is rejected because of failure to meet the minimum ASA Annual Meeting Oversight Committee (AMOC) criteria.
  2. Approved recommendation that TSA members complete the ASA Annual Meeting site survey and rank San Antonio “as most likely to attend”.
  3. Approved as amended, Resolution 701-Corporate Practice of Medicine, Page 1, line 42, to read: “employed physicians holding staff privileges at a hospital that is an employing entity, or at hospitals in which employed physicians hold staff privileges…” and Page 2, lines 3 and 4, to read: “privileges. Physicians who hold membership on medical staffs at a hospital that is an employing entity, or at hospitals in which employed physicians hold staff privileges that are affiliates of employing entities…”
